The Queens Head Hotel is an old Tudor faced Coaching Inn which dates back to 1656. Situated in the middle of Morpeth town centre it is not without its notoriety. After all, this is where Bessie Surtees, after eloping with her lover, stayed overnight.
Some of the original features can still be seen today. Although the hotel has moved with the times, the prevailing sense of welcome by its staff has never diminished
The Hotel was easy to find and very central for visiting the local area. The Staff were very pleasant and the accommodation was to a very high standard. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Northumberland or surroundings areas.
